Adoration General Information
The Adoration Chapel is in the side chapel of St. Alice Church in Pequot Lakes, MN. on the north side of the building. The chapel is open each week from Monday morning at 9AM to Friday evening at 5PM. The adoration is continuous during that time and goes through the night.
Who can attend? All are invited to attend. You are always welcome to stop in at the chapel for a visit with Jesus at any time, however, to maintain an adoration chapel with the Eucharist exposed and displayed in the monstrance someone must always be present in the chapel. You can sign up as a regular adorer or as a substitute by clicking here.
Why Eucharistic Adoration? Eucharistic adoration is spending time with Our Lord in prayer, meditation and spiritual reading while in the presence of His Blessed Sacrament. This quiet time with Jesus deepens our faith and our personal relationship with Him. The practice of Eucharistic adoration is encouraged by the Church throughout the world. St. Pope John Paul II “The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship. Jesus waits for us in this Sacrament of Love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith and ready to make reparation for the great faults and crimes of the world. What do you do while in adoration? You are the committed Adorer and Guardian of the Eucharist at your hour. While in the adoration chapel you can be still in the presence of God. It can be a time of quiet and peace wherein you just allow yourself to be with the Lord. You can also pray and do some spiritual reading.
How can I help? A posted schedule is kept of all available hours for adoration. All hours must have at least one-person present, although, two is preferable. You can sign up for an hour to spend with Jesus each week. You would then make sure that you were present during that hour each week or, if not able, find a substitute from the list of substitutes.
