Work has begun

Approximately 1 1⁄2 years ago, a capital campaign committee was formed to carry out a 3 year capital campaign to raise $7 million to fund the Diocesan approved plan. To date, parishioners have made contributions and pledges totaling nearly $2.5 million which is 35% of the campaign goal. Harvesting of timber and clearing of the future building site is nearly complete. You can see aerial views of the cleared building site as of a couple of weeks ago at, https://youtu.be/6smUvHeJmtE . Repairs and improvements at the Pine River location have been started and a committee is being formed to prioritize the remaining improvements there. The aggregate gifts we have received to date will allow us to now approach other potential donors and ask them to prayerfully consider supporting what we believe to be God’s plan for the future of our church.

From now through mid-summer, we will continue to contact potential donors that may have the desire to make major donations to the capital campaign. Every sacrificial gift that has been received to date, ranging from $10 to over $300,000, is gratefully appreciated and may inspire others to contribute. As members of Our Lady of the Lakes, we have so much to be thankful for:

 A great Catholic Faith.

 A great Church body filled with members who love and serve one another.

 A wonderful priest dedicated to helping us gain eternity in Heaven.

 Phenomenal staff and volunteers.

 A parish that is financially strong with a plan for the future.

 Having exceptional ministries with dedicated volunteers.

 A God who loves us and a Savior who died for us!!!

At this time of Thanksgiving, we recognize the gifts that God has given us through our church. We also give thanks for the past and current parishioners that provided all that we now enjoy at Our Lady of the Lakes. We are called by God to be good stewards of all that He and the people before us provided. Not unlike the recent reading about the talents that were given by the master, we are called to make the most of what we have been given by God to further His kingdom here on earth. United by God and led by the Holy Spirit, together our church and all of its members can be a light to the world.

If you or anyone you know has questions about the capital campaign or are considering making a pledge to it, please call the parish office at (218)568-4760. A member of the committee will be happy to meet with you at a time and place convenient for you. May God Bless You and Your Family .
